But there’s more to Spilker Portraits than just the business. As a child, I used to sneak into the library and pull books of photography from the shelves. I have always been inspired by Dorothea Lange’s ability to capture incredible emotions in the faces of her subjects and fascinated by Henri Cartier-Bresson’s ability to find that spectacular, elusive moment that other photographers seem to miss. Throw them both together, add a little wedding day creativity, and you’ll find a combination of romance, artistry and photojournalism that influences every DVD I create.
